Dr. Catherine Mahan Boyd
Dr. Boyd received her medical degree from The University of New Mexico School of Medicine and graduated in the top quartile of her class. She completed her psychiatry residency at the University of New Mexico Hospital and is board certified in Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr Boyd is trained as a certified Integrative Psychiatric Provider through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute and is currently undergoing training in psychedelic assisted psychotherapy through the Mulitidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies.
Dr. Boyd’s path to healing and self-discovery began after she graduated from Brown University with Honors and earned a degree in Visual Arts/Semiotics. She worked as an artist, in the film industry, as a snowboarding instructor and raft guide, and as a yoga and meditation instructor.
Through these experiences, as well as Dr. Boyd’s own health challenges with autoimmune disease and illness due to mold exposure, she learned that life is an adventure to be embraced. As the difficult times come, we learn to slow down and become more present, to live in the moment and appreciate the small wonders each day brings. Dr. Boyd’s goal is to guide you in finding your inner, wise healer.
Dr. Boyd will assist you in finding the best treatment strategy for you, including psychological, pharmaceutical or natural remedies. She begins with an integrative consultation. From there, you may begin psychotherapy, add or remove medications/ supplements or create a plan that includes a range of treatment modalities.
